VILLIORGAN™ is a platform that precisely replicates the physiological microenvironment of the intestine through a 3D villus porous membrane structure.
By promoting the structural and functional differentiation of epithelial cells and inducing mucin expression and the formation of a mucus layer-like barrier, it creates an intestinal model that is more physiologically relevant than conventional 2D cultures.
- By applying a layer of paraffin oil to the surface of VILLIORGAN™, an oxygen concentration gradient is created across the membrane, enabling the co-culture of anaerobic bacteria in a physiologically appropriate environment.
