AACR 2026 Highlights the Shift Toward Human-Relevant Platforms in Cancer Research

At AACR 2026, global attention focused on emerging technologies designed to reduce reliance on animal testing and improve the predictability of cancer research.
Among them, ORGANOPlus presented its organ-on-chip platform, VILLIORGAN™, which replicates the human intestinal microenvironment, along with preclinical findings on its microbiome-derived anticancer candidate ‘OP820’.
The study demonstrated how a human-relevant system can enable the discovery and functional validation of microbiome-based therapeutics, reflecting a broader industry shift toward more predictive and translational models in drug development.
